Alzheimer’s, Dementia Care & Assisted Living in Worcester, MA
Life at the Oasis at Dodge Park community provides an environment of Love for individual passions, opportunities for Innovation such as setting a stage to perform again, having a new Family to hear melodies of the past and feel the warmth and tenderness of real Engagement as you are able to experience the positive feedback from others.
Our Innovative Program at the Oasis at Dodge Park
Oasis at Dodge Park fights cognitive decline by encouraging residents to engage in both mental and physical exercise. We call our program Cognitive Engagement Therapy Techniques. The program at Oasis at Dodge Park is exceptional because we have a full-time activity professional in every wing every day.
Our smaller environment and high staffing ratio allow us to provide specialized individual activities for the residents. Research shows that keeping our minds active not only helps maintain our mental functions, but may actually improve abilities even in individuals with dementia.
We know that individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of memory impairment vary in their level of ability. A deficit in one of our senses is often compensated by another sense. Engaging and stimulating as many of the five senses as often possible increases the likelihood of a “connection” between the resident and the activity.
Call or visit today and find the peace of mind you’ve been looking for with the memory program at Oasis at Dodge Park.

Imagine my disbelief when I first found out that my sister had early onset Alzheimer’s disease and dementia, it became painfully apparent when she was only 55 years old. For several years we couldn’t figure out what was going on, she had restless nights, forgetfulness, memory loss, and she always wandered off, causing a panic and sick feeling in the pit of my stomach.
We tried having her live with us for a while, but if you are reading this review you know that sadly, it is extremely difficult and a 24-7 commitment. We made the decision, drove around and visited and evaluated dozens of facilities. Some were very nice looking but the staff seemed unresponsive, others felt like sterilized wards, and the worst ones are the ones that have that distinctive odor about them. If you are currently looking at different places you know the smell I mean.
The second we walked into the Oasis we knew that we had found a home for her. As strange as it seems, it reminded me of being on a cruise ship. There was someone playing the piano and staff and the people they serve were singing Sweet Caroline. Now that doesn’t happen all the time, but there are regularly scheduled activities at the Oasis. Some of the people served cannot move around much and don’t sing, but if you watch their feet you will probably see them tapping to the beat!
The very first time we entered into the Oasis, unannounced, for a visit and evaluation we were pleasantly surprised both owners Micha and Ben were there. Micha took around for a tour asked questions about my sister and gave helpful suggestions about care facilities. He gave us a book that he has written about dementia.
The most moving moment that I experienced with the Oasis was when my sister had to be hospitalized for a short period of time, at a hospital miles away from the Oasis. I walked into the hospital and imagine my surprise, I bumped into Ben one of the owners he had driven miles away just to check on and visit with my sister. I choked up. You are not going to find that attention level at any other placement…
The nurses are always present and are usually within eye sight of most of the people residing there. They are friendly, experienced and supportive and they are always in contact when something changes or my sister has had a bad day. Now my sister has her favorite nurse, of course, but it would not be fair to mention her here, because all the nurses are fantastic. Oh, did I mention that they have a dental hygienist who goes to the Oasis, and a Psychiatrist, there is hairstylist, a yoga instructor and many other services.
Some of the most important people in my sister’s day however are the staff. They all know her by name and always say hello. Most of them are upbeat and will probably put a smile on your face when you go to visit the Oasis. I have gone in there a little grumpy before and walked away grinning. They work hard and genuinely care about the people they serve and their families.
Sometimes I stop by at lunch time to share lunch with my sister and I try to make as many of the family cookouts and special events that they, the food has always been good. The Chef is always excited and happy to talk about what she has cooked and is serving especially at the special events.
Every time we go to see my sister we are genuinely pleased that we found a home for her at the Oasis! 🙂

We are so lucky there is a facility like The Oasis. The space is beautiful, the staff are wonderful. All patients are out and about in the facility and are not living in their beds. There are activities through out the day from games to entertainment. Residents participate what they can. Sing along or sit quietly and enjoy. I am forever grateful my mother in law is in their care.

The collaboration between Oasis staff, hospice staff, and families is amazing! The detailed care and true TLC are unparalleled. The owners are not only onsight most of the time, but they know each patient/family and take a real interest.

Mom went through several living situations prior to entering The Oasis at Dodge Park. There is NO comparison with other facilities. The Oasis excels at treating the residents as people, caring for each of them on a personal level. The staff is very attentive. Any resident who wants to partake of the activities or just watch is welcomed. All levels of care are integrated so those needing more assistance are not left to sit and “veg” alone. The meals are outstanding. The communication is excellent. While the facility is more expensive than other places, the quality of life there exceeds the added cost. This is my Mom’s care we are talking about. Mom is always clean, well dressed, participating, and attended to along with all the other residents. I live out of state and never tell the Oasis when I am going to visit. Never have I been disappointed. The Best Place for my Mom.

We are extremely grateful to OASIS for the love and support provided our Mom during her stay. OASIS’ loving assistance throughout her stay and at the very end of Mom’s life will remain with us always. The team’s dedicated participation in Mom’s services was very meaningful and totally unexpected (unbelievable show of love and support). OASIS was a very special place for all of us this past year, due in large part to the caring, dedicated and professional actions displayed by the entire staff (24/7).

We can’t thank you enough for the care, concern, acceptance you’ve all shown since Mom (Pauline) became a resident at Oasis. She is thriving! We haven’t seen her this happy and healthy for years.
My sister Lisa and I cannot speak highly enough about the staff and facility.
Well done Mike, Ben, and the entire Oasis family.
Sincerely,
Lori B

The Oasis at Dodge Park in Worcester is a lovely, safe and socially stimulating opportunity for your loved one, when the alternative is having them remain in their home isolated and at risk physically and emotionally.
As an only child, I was especially lucky because my mom’s increasing dementia allowed me to move her to the Oasis without protest on her part. She was 93 and no longer able to function in the assisted living environment in Sudbury where she had resided since falling and breaking her hip.
The Oasis is wonderful – the staff, aides, nurses are all loving, caring, compassionate and skilled in handling the challenging aspects of dementia like incontinence, sundowning, refusal to take medications, etc.
It’s an attractive new clean facility that’s full of light, art, music and even has a bird cage with four beautiful little parakeets. The day of my first visit, my heart soared when I was greeted by Violet, the one-year old Havanese puppy who “rules the roost.”
Accommodations are very nice and the food is terrific; I always enjoyed eating with my mom whenever I could. And the quality of the activities is unparalleled. The staff is positive and caring, and they are very skilled at engaging the residents.
I highly recommend visiting the Oasis at Dodge Park in Worcester as soon as you can to see for yourself what a wonderful opportunity is available for your loved one.
P.S. Final note: after having been at the Oasis one year, my mom passed peacefully in her sleep a few weeks ago. I will be forever grateful for the love and compassion shown to me as well as my mom upon her passing. The Oasis will always be my family.
